Did you know between 5,000-10,000 endangered Grey-headed Flying foxes call Parra Park home? This summer, we’ve installed sprinklers in the trees of the camp as part of a trial to see if they bring some cooling relief during extreme heat events. The sprinklers pump water from Parramatta River up into the trees to mimic a summer rainstorm, and will be carefully managed by dedicated expert WIRES volunteers.
