A baby Japanese macaque named Punch has become an online sensation after videos showed him carrying a large stuffed orangutan toy at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan. Punch was abandoned by his mother soon after he was born in July 2025, so zookeepers began to look after him by hand feeding and caring for him. Because he lacked a mother figure and had trouble fitting in with other monkeys, they gave him the soft toy to comfort him, and he began carrying it everywhere like a substitute parent. Clip
