In addition we were driving upstream which almost doubled the bow wave height. Speed had to be adjusted down to compensate. The crossing was over 300m in length. In fair weather it’s nothing more than a Grade 2, but this can escalate in heavy rain. Isolation, wild mountain scenery and proteas will be your only companions.
