Tomas Sliva won the medal in the Novice Super G - M04 alpine skiing competition on Thursday, March 13 in Turin, Italy.

The 24-year-old completed the course in 1:57.450, more than two seconds ahead of the runner up, Mexico’s Alejandro Elias Gonzalez.

The Special Olympics World Winter Games take place in Turin, Italy, this week and five Utah athletes will compete in the games, four in DanceSport and one in Snowshoe. In total, over 1,500 athletes and Unified partners from 102 countries are expected to attend the World Games.

Indian athletes had a brilliant fourth day of the competition, winning 13 medals across four different sports.
