The White House has not ruled out stationing U.S. troops in Ukraine after hostilities end to prevent further Russian aggression, an adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump told Axios on Aug. 18.

Ukrainian drone units struck a Russian oil pumping station overnight on Aug. 18, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Russia could only occupy the rest of Donetsk Oblast quickly if Ukraine agreed to Vladimir Putin’s demand to withdraw its forces, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in its Aug. 17 report.
