While we are not expecting another widespread tornado outbreak this weekend, some strong to severe thunderstorms could produce wind damage and a few tornadoes from southeast Texas to Mississippi Sunday afternoon and evening.

As a coast-to-coast winter storm slices across the U.S. Sunday and Monday, severe thunderstorms fired up across portions of the South on the warm side of the storm system.

A passing cold front will bring the chance for some isolated severe thunderstorms Sunday morning through afternoon. Thunderstorms and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph are the main threats; however, there is a low threat of tornadoes and large hail.
