A tornado rolled through a Southern Mississippi on Wednesday afternoon damaging businesses and homes around the town of Columbia. Despite the time and afternoon that the severe weather struck, there were no reported injuries following the event.

Much of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi remain under a tornado watch until 8 p.m. with severe weather in the forecast Wednesday.

The Storm Prediction Center as added an enhanced risk for severe weather for part of west Alabama for Saturday in its latest forecast update. The rest of the state has a Level 2 risk. The weather service said tornadoes, damaging winds and heavy rain will again be possible. The additional rain could also increase concerns about flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for most of the parishes in Acadiana. The Tornado Watch is scheduled to remain in effect until 8
