If you were downtown on Saturday morning, you might have seen it! The 2025 LULAC District VIII Cinco de Mayo Parade was held to celebrate the cultural holiday. LULAC said it's the biggest Cinco de Mayo parade in the city.

Houston is gearing up for Cinco de Mayo with numerous venues offering festivities, food, and drink specials. Celebrations include mariachi music, specialty cocktails, and themed events across the city.

Cinco De Mayo commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory against the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. During the battle, Mexican forces were outnumbered 2,000 to 6,000 against the French, according to previous Houston Chronicle reporting.
