Trump’s plan to vastly expand migrant detentions at the Guantánamo Bay Naval Station in Cuba has proven costly and logistically complicated.

President Trump said the base would house as many as 30,000 migrants awaiting deportation. But construction of a tent city was halted weeks ago.

Immigration officials have removed all migrants being held at Guantanamo Bay and returned them to the US, just weeks after sending the first batch to the US military base in Cuba. According to US media reports,

All 40 illegal migrants held at the Guantánamo Bay U.S. naval base in Cuba have been sent back to the United States and are now being held in Louisiana, two U.S. defense officials told Fox News.
