Outfielder Kyle Tucker did not play in the Chicago Cubs' 6-4 victory in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers as the club looks to give the 2025 National League All-Star a mental "reset" amid second-half struggles.

Tucker, a four-time All-Star and a driving force in the Cubs’ offensive success in the first half, entered Tuesday with a .189 batting average and just four extra-base hits since the beginning of July. He said he’d never before gone this long without answers to an offensive rut.

The situation has turned ugly, with Tucker getting booed at Wrigley Field for not producing and not running to first base.
