Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a new “comprehensive initiative” on Monday focused on government efficiency in Florida while praising the efforts of DOGE at the federal level.

TAMPA, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference Monday to introduce a new task force to review and improve the state government’s efficiency. DeSantis said the new DOGE task force will help streamline the Florida government and “eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy” to ensure tax dollars are used efficiently.

Governor Ron DeSantis came out in support of banning local governments from collecting property taxes. DeSantis says that change would require changes to the state constitution, but any proposal should be bold since people need relief.

For the second time in as many weeks, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has again supported the idea of doing away with property taxes.
