Cincinnati Reds ' jerseys will sport a new patch this season in honor of baseball's all-time hits leader, Pete Rose. The Reds gave a sneak peek of the patch on social media Monday, which features Rose's signature baseball number. Rose, who was one of the most divisive figures in baseball history, passed away last year. He was 83.

Pitcher Brent Suter, a product of Moeller, said he thought the addition of the patch helped convey the significance of Rose to the city.

Rose also led the Philadelphia Phillies to a World Series crown in 1980 and another World Series appearance in 1983. Despite his numbers, Rose was banned from baseball in 1989 aft
