Actor Dhanush sued Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan for using three seconds of footage from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in their Netflix docu-drama. Nayanthara's lawyer claimed no copyright infringement,

Dhanush said, "The third respondent was aware that she must not use any visuals or video of the film, off or on-screen without consent of the applicant. She intentionally chose to infringe upon the applicant's copyrights causing an irreparable loss to the applicant's company.

Actor Dhanush has taken legal action against actress Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Sivan, alleging unauthorized use of visuals from his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

The dispute began when Nayanthara accused Dhanush of pressuring her and blocking her from using footage from their film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary.

Following the open letter and controversy surrounding the documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, actor Dhanush has finally launched a civil lawsuit against the actress and her husband Vignesh Shivan.

Dhanush and Nayanthara have previously been co-stars whose conflict over this issue has been public in the last few weeks.
