A man has been charged after a boat was reported stolen from Bowness. Following the report of the theft a Warrior 170 Boat from Bowness in summer 2024, the police investigation identified a suspect.

Records show wild rice was common around the turn of the 20th century, but poor water quality caused die-offs in the 1980s. Today, it's making a big return on the river.
