A fter an all-day, all-night marathon of intense pressure from the White House, the House Thursday passed and sent to President Donald Trump sweeping legislation to cut taxes but also cut help for the millions of Californians who rely on Medicaid and food assistance.

The sweeping tax-and-spending package now heads to President Donald Trump's desk a day before his July 4 deadline.

In a reversal of recent climate policy, the bill rolls back several clean energy tax credits that were part of President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act. This includes the elimination of credits for solar and wind energy development, as well as the early sunset of the electric vehicle tax credit, now set to expire in 2025 instead of 2032.
