Just as all three eaglets hatched from their eggs in the Big Bear nest about one week ago, on Friday morning, only two of the little ones could be seen bobbing about for their feeding.The Friends of Big Bear Valley's nest cam captures the nest life of Jackie and Shadow.

Jackie laid the three eggs at the end of January, according to Big Bear, and all three hatched last week. Only two appeared to be in the nest Friday.

On Friday morning, the Friends of Big Bear Valley live camera showed the baby eaglets in their nest, but one of the three appeared to be missing.

Jackie and Shadow’s chick triplets are eating well while growing bigger and stronger every day. But they face challenges ahead as they outgrow the protective shielding of their parents. Chick 1 and Chick 2 are about a week old as of Tuesday.

Under the watch of a 24/7 livestreamed camera mounted above Jackie and Shadow’s nest in Southern California’s San Bernardino mountains, the first two eggs hatched on March 3 and March 4. The third egg hung in there a little longer, hatching on March 8.

Jackie and Shadow are now the proud parents of two eaglets who have hatched as thousands tune in to a livestream of an eagle camera feed.
