Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor revealed that guard Cordell Volson will likely miss the entire season due to a necessary shoulder procedure. The injury news comes on the heels of reports that Dalton Risner left his Bengals visit without a deal and plans to visit at least one other team before making a decision.
“Bengals G Cordell Volson, who has started 48 games over the last three years, will likely miss the entire 2025 NFL season with a shoulder injury that requires surgery,” Meirov wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
In April, free-agent guard Dalton Risner said in a TikTok live video that the Bengals and Broncos were among NFL teams to which he had talked.
Cincinnati Bengals guard Cordell Volson is one of the notables potentially on the roster bubble in the coming weeks. After being benched last year and seeing the Bengals sign Lucas Patrick to start in one guard spot and giving the other to rookie Dylan Fairchild, this camp always looked like a critical one for Volson.
The Cincinnati Bengals got some bad news today. “Bengals OL Cordell Volson suffered a right shoulder injury at practice yesterday. Zac Taylor said he won’t play on Monday against WAS and his injury timeline is unknown,” ESPN Bengals reporter Ben Baby posted on X, formerly Twitter.
