After Canucks forward Brock Boeser hit the post on the rush with 33 seconds left, Marco Rossi fed Kaprizov on a 2-on-1 for a one-timer from the right face-off circle. Frederick Gaudreau and Jake Middleton also scored for Minnesota (17-4-4), which is 6-1-1 in its past eight. Filip Gustavsson made 30 saves.

Kaprizov, tied for the NHL’s scoring lead with 39 points, scored his 16th goal with 24.3 seconds left in overtime at the end of a long, long shift right after he and Marco Rossi turned the puck over in the neutral zone for a two-on-zero.

The big question heading into this one was how the Canucks would contend with the loss of Filip Hronek. They’ve already been without him for a few games, but tonight was the first game without him since we learned that he’ll be out for approximately two months.
