The passage of an atmospheric river storm did not mean the end of the Bay Area's wet weather as steady rain continued to fall across the region Monday and there was a chance it could resume again on Thanksgiving Day.

An atmospheric river is expected to bring powerful wind and heavy rain to the Bay Area through Friday night before easing up this weekend.

The first atmospheric river storm of the winter rainy season slammed into California on Wednesday. Driven by a powerful “bomb cyclone” off British Columbia, it brought heavy rains to Sonoma and Marin counties, dumping more than 6 inches in the hills above Guerneville by mid-afternoon.

Round 2 of that atmospheric river is expected to hit Friday, covering a wider region of the Bay Area. Here's a timeline of when the rain will hit the hardest.
