A French prosecutor is seeking a year of monitoring with an ankle bracelet for the two researchers accused of throwing explosive bottles over the perimeter wall and into the garden of the Russian consulate in Marseille on Monday,

Three projectiles were thrown over the perimeter wall of Russia's consulate in the southern French port city of Marseille on Monday, two of which exploded, police said.

Two French nationals who threw explosive devices at the Russian consulate in Marseille are employed by the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the public prosecutor’s office told AFP late Tuesday.
