East Carolina (5-3, 3-1 American) left zero doubt of superiority over Temple (5-4, 3-2 American), ransacking the road environment in a 45-14 annihilation. The Pirates are now one of six American teams with exactly one loss in conference play, remaining firmly in the hunt with four weeks remaining.
The Pirates gashed the Owls for 75 yards in just six plays in the opening drive. Quarterback Katin Houser threw 35 yards to wide receiver Anthony Smith to get to Temple’s nine-yard line. Houser finished the drive with a seven-yard pass to wide receiver Yannick Smith, giving ECU a 7-0 lead less than two minutes into the game.
