The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced an investment of up to one billion dollars and a five-pronged strategy to combat highly pathogenic avian influenza (IPAI) throughout the country.

Democratic members of the U.S. Senate Ag Committee are demanding answers from the U.S. Ag Secretary about recent staff firings. During Wednesday’s hearing, Minnesota’s Tina Smith said the committee’s efforts to address staffing shortages at the Farm Service Agency have gone out the window.
