HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - 329 college football stars were invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine on Friday and there are some local players heading to Indianapolis at the end of the month. Marshall defensive lineman Mike Green recieved an invitation after a season where he was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and registeted 17.

On the first day of interviews, the Lions have already met with plenty of noteworthy prospects and that includes the player who was the Division I leader in sacks in 2024. According to Lions OnSI, the team had a formal meeting with Marshall edge rusher Mike Green at the combine. Green had a monster year in his final college season.
Of the 329 players invited, top prospects in attendance include Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders and Abdul Carter. Some players, including Sanders and Carter, won’t be participating in the workouts but are still scheduled to meet with teams and speak to reporters.
