The Europe trade deal will see the U.S. impose a 15% import tariff on most EU goods − half the threatened rate but much more than Europeans hoped for.

The European Union and the United States have struck a deal to avoid a painful trade war between the transatlantic allies.

"I think it's the biggest deal ever made," Trump said of the new agreement, which will reduce the bloc's tariff rate to 15 percent.

The European Union's trade deal with the United States could cost the pharmaceutical industry between $13 billion and $19 billion as branded medicines become subject to a tariff of 15%, analysts said on Monday.
