Last week the Nasdaq confirmed it was in a correction, driven lower by tariff and growth uncertainties as well as high valuations for megacap tech stocks. The Nasdaq Composite ended up 451.07 points, or 2.61% at 17,754.09 on Friday, for its biggest daily gain since November 6.

Only a few months into 2025, the sharp decline of the U.S. stock market has prompted some of Wall Street’s top forecasters to scale back their bullish predictions for the S&P 500.

The pain continued for investors on Tuesday, with the Dow falling as much as 700 points after Trump threatened fresh tariffs on Canadian metal imports.
