Despite taking a cautious approach to the 2025 NFL preseason, the Atlanta Falcons suffered two significant practice injuries over the past week. Right tackle Kaleb McGary was carted off the field on Wednesday and is expected to miss "some time," per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The Falcons offensive line is having a tough day on the injury front on Wednesday. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that tackle Storm Norton is set to miss six-to-eight weeks after having ankle surgery.
McGary, who just signed a two-year, $30 million extension with the team a few weeks ago, has been a mainstay along the Falcons’ offensive line since being drafted in the first round in 2019. He has appeared in 93 games (92 starts) at right tackle in that time, developing a reputation as a nasty run blocker.

The Atlanta Falcons got an early start on their roster cuts, releasing 12 players and placing offensive lineman Jake Hanson on injured reserve. Defensive lineman Morgan Fox was arguably the most surprising of Saturday's cuts. The veteran had a $3 million guarantee in the contract he signed over the offseason.
McGary was carted off at Wednesday’s practice with a left leg injury and an initial report said that he’d miss time without an idea of how much time. Morris suggested it will be at least the first four games of the regular season because that’s the minimum time players are out when they go on injured reserve.
