A fire that erupted near Colorado Springs Airport has prompted evacuations at Meridian Road North. The blaze was reported after a Red Flag Warning was issued.

Evacuation have been issued for people from Gusty Bluffs Point and Meridian Road North to Highway 94 and Franceville Coal Mine, and to the east border of Schriever Space Force Base in Ellicott. People in those areas are being told to evacuate.

Multiple crews from across the county are responding to the Meridian Fire burning east of Schriever Space Force Base Thursday afternoon.
