At least two people have died from a severe tornado-producing storm that hit northern Texas and at least 20 families have been displaced, with many homes sustaining major damage.

North Texas was battered by two confirmed tornadoes Saturday night that killed at least one person and injured six others.

The National Weather Service confirms at least one tornado, an EF-2, touched down in North Texas Saturday night, as deadly and devastating spring storms swept through Wise and Parker counties, killing at least two and displacing dozens of families.

Runaway Bay is in recovery mode after a deadly tornado hit the edges of its southwestern, western, and northern corners, Mayor Herman White said.

Family and Wise County officials have identified the man who died Saturday night when a tornado swept through a Wise County town. Juan Madrid died after an EF-2 tornado hit his home in Runaway Bay, according to his daughter Jackeline Madrid and Wise County Judge J.D. Clark.
