Kanlaon Volcano has been spewing ash over the past two days, with each event lasting up to 40 minutes and producing voluminous emissions since November 30.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is monitoring closely the Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island due to its continuous and elevated sulfur dioxide emission.

Kanlaon Volcano emitted ash on Monday morning, November 11, according to Phivolcs, marking the 20th ash event since November 1.

Kanlaon emitted 6,432 tons of sulfur dioxide flux, based on monitoring records. The continuous degassing sent a 500-meter tall plume with occasional ash emission that drifted to the west and southwest side of the volcano.
