Colorado State fired football coach Jay Norvell a day after the Rams dropped to 2-5 with a loss to Hawaii and a season removed from a bowl game.

CBSports.com and ESPN.com both reported Sunday morning that CSU has fired Jay Norvell, its fourth-year football coach and third coach since 2019. The move comes a day after the Rams lost 31-19 to Hawaii at Canvas Stadium.

CSU lost 43-17 to Miami (Ohio) in the 2024 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl. Norvell and CSU didn't agree to a contract extension in the offseason, meaning he entered the 2025 season on Year 4 of a five-year deal without new terms.
