Office pool in Kentucky secures $50K Powerball prize
A group of TG Kentucky workers is celebrating after winning $50,000 together in a Powerball drawing. The Kentucky Lottery said that for several years, each member of the group has been paying into an office pool and having coworkers purchase tickets when the Powerball jackpot hits $800 million.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Lottery gave away $2 Powerball coupons Friday at the Valley Station Kroger on Dixie Highway ahead of Saturday's 1 billion jackpot drawing. The winner of the high stakes lottery will have the option to receive the full $1 billion dollar payout over the course of 30 years or to receive $461.3 million cash.
On Tuesday, the Kentucky Lottery announced two more significant prizes for the latest run of the Powerball. The two latest wins were in Lebanon and Franklin, totaling $150,000. The ticket in Lebanon was bought from Country Concenient on 690 East Main Street and landed a $50,000 prize.
Two winning Powerball tickets were sold in Kentucky, including in Franklin. The Kentucky Lottery says the winning tickets were from the drawing held on Monday, Dec. 8. These included a $50,000 winning ticket purchased at Country Convenient at 690 E.
