On Monday at 11:49 p.m. EDT the National Weather Service issued an updated flood advisory in effect until Tuesday at 1 a.m. EDT for Muskegon County.

The pipes running under the fairgrounds were installed in the 1960s and not designed for a 1,000-year storm, officials said.
