Colchester Zoo has confirmed the death of a zebra after it was attacked by a rhino this afternoon in an enclosure that they shared with other animals

The two animals were kept in the zoo's 'Kingdom of the Wild' enclosure, which is also home to animals and birds including an African crowned crane, an ostrich, a greater kudu and a reticulated giraffe.

A zebra has died at a zoo in Essex following an incident with a rhino, a spokesperson for the attraction has said. In a post on social media, Colchester Zoo said the incident took place at about 2pm at the mixed species African habitat between the rhino and a male zebra.
