UFC 321 left a lot of fans disappointed, and Paddy Pimblett is going as far as to call the card one of the worst major shows the promotion has ever put on.
Paddy Pimblett has some strong opinions on how UFC 321 went down, dubbing the event one of the worst pay-per-views in the history of the promotion. Out of 13 fights, only three ended with legit stoppages.
Nathaniel Wood met the media Saturday after his win over Jose Delgado at UFC 321. Wood (22-6 MMA, 10-3 UFC) was dropped by Delgado (10-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in the first round and was in plenty of trouble. But he rallied in the second and third on the prelims at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi to take a unanimous decision.
UFC 321 went down on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was on track to be one of the biggest and most important cards of the year, but it ended in controversy.
Not only was the main event deemed a failure, but the entire event has been blasted by not only fans, but former UFC double champion, Henry Cejudo, who also labeled it the worst card in history. And that is something fellow British star Paddy Pimblett agrees with, as he has also labeled the lacklustre event ‘one of the worst PPVs in history’.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion has undergone surgery on his knee to repair an injury that's been present for a while now. Since returning from his Achilles tendon tear, Hill has lost three fights in a row to current champ Alex Pereira, former champ Jiri Prochazka, and most recently Khalil Rountree in June.
Pimblett (23-3) has yet to taste UFC gold but is on the verge of securing a title shot against current lightweight champion Ilia Topuria. He's on a nine-fight winning streak, including all seven of his UFC fights, with five of them coming via stoppage. Joshua gave sage advice to Pimblett on what it will take to wear UFC gold around his waist.
