The star center flew back to New Jersey to be evaluated by team doctors following his right arm/shoulder injury on Sunday, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media on Monday. The person requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the situation.

New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes exited his team's 2-0 loss to the Golden Knights on Sunday after a collision in the third period with Vegas forward Jack Eichel that sent him tumbling to the ice and into the boards behind the net with 1:48 remaining.

"Obviously, it didn't look good," Devils coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters about Jack Hughes' injury after the loss to Vegas.
