The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the island of Maui until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026. At 6 p.m., radar showed heavy rain over windward West Maui Mountains. Rain was falling at a rate of up to 2 inches per hour. The heaviest rain was falling between Kahakuloa and Waiheʻe.

First Alert Weather Day declared again for Monday for parts of state due to threat of heavy rain
A flood watch is now in effect for the islands of Niihau, Kauai and Oahu through Saturday morning.
Mayor Richard Bissen signed an emergency proclamation on Saturday in anticipation of severe weather predicted to impact Maui County more than other areas in the state.
At lower elevations, a high wind warning is in effect statewide as powerful northeast winds of 25 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph, tear across the islands. Officials warn that “damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines and damage roofs,” noting that travel remains hazardous for high-profile vehicles.
Several road restrictions and closures remained in effect Monday on Maui due to severe weather.
