Cloud chambers have been fundamental in the history of particle physics and are now used to detect cosmic rays – high-energy subatomic particles that constantly hit earth from outer space.

Rod Fergusson has officially stepped into Cloud Chamber as they look to bring the next BioShock game across the finish line.

"Cloud Chamber is hard at work on the next entry in the critically acclaimed BioShock series," reads the website for the developer.

Whether it's fair or not, BioShock 4 will be compared to those games that preceded it, and Cloud Chamber will inevitably be pitted against Irrational Games in the eyes of many players.

Cloud Chamber Games, the studio for BioShock 4, is rumored to have had as much as 80 layoffs out of 250 employees.
