The entire West Michigan lakeshore is expected to be a flashpoint for storm-force winds as they hit as high as 57 mph. The region is under a high wind advisory until late Thursday night. Despite the hazardous conditions, West Michiganders flocked to Holland State Park to see the resulting 12- to 16-foot waves as they crashed in.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory as strong winds are expected Nov. 26 and Nov. 27. The Ohio Turnpike has a travel ban coming.

The NWS Blacksburg VA released an updated wind advisory at 7:48 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until Thursday at 11 a.m. The advisory is for Ashe, Alleghany and Watauga counties.

Thousands of runners bundled up and braved high winds and freezing temperatures for Buffalo's annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.

A blizzard warning has been issued for Gogebic, Ontonagon, Keweenaw, Baraga, Marquette and Alger counties, plus the northern half of Houghton County, the NWS said, warning that "travel could be very difficult to impossible."

A wind advisory has been issued for a large chunk of the Midwest, as dangerous wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour could occur this week.

Central Iowa saw some of the highest wind gusts over 60 mph on Tuesday, Nov. 25 and into the early hours of Wednesday, Nov. 26. In eastern Iowa, peak wind speeds ranged from 45 mph to 56 mph, according to the Quad Cities National Weather Service.

A weather system that is moving across the country is bringing winter conditions to Ontario and Quebec starting Wednesday and into Thursday, with heavy snow and high winds expected.
