A driver ran a red light in North Seattle, causing a multi-vehicle crash and injuries to several people, including a child and a 63-year-old. The driver, possibly in crisis, was cited but not arrested and taken for evaluation.
The Kane County Coroner's Office said Monday that Diego Nava Torres, 32, of Chicago and Samantha Ortiz, 33, of Chicago were killed in the crash. The crash happened at about 8:10 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 88 near Mitchell Road in North Aurora, police said.
According to the video, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and ignored the red light, t-boning the van as it attempted to cross Aurora.

Chicago pair killed in weekend crash in west suburb identified
A man and woman from Chicago were killed in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend in west suburban North Aurora, officials said.
A man in northern Aurora is fighting for his life after a shooting on Saturday afternoon. Police were called to the scene in the 1500 block of Macon Street for the report of a shooting just after 2 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
“I’ve never been to the real Oktoberfest in Munich but I enjoy celebrating it,” Bohr said while sporting a German-inspired hat with a multiple collection of pins on it at North Aurora’s first-ever Oktoberfest celebration Saturday at Riverfront Park. “I got this hat at a German fest in Milwaukee. I take it out every year and put it on.”
No one was home at the time of the fire but police say multiple pets including cats and dogs were in the house and died in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshall.
