The Tigers won a pitching duel between Tarik Skubal and Hunter Brown on a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning on Tuesday.

Leading up to the game, the Tigers made an announcement on relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan that reads like a promising sign heading into Monday night's game and the rest of the 2025 MLB season. The Astros lead the season series against Detroit 2-1 so far this season after falling to Detroit in the Wild Card round of the 2024 MLB Playoffs.

The Tigers and Astros have met in two wildly different games, despite the same coming out on top. After thumping the Astros 10-0 on Monday night, Detroit and Houston went into extras deadlocked at zero. However, several good at-bats by the Tigers in the 10th inning led to them scoring the game-winning run on a Gleyber Torres.

Gleyber Torres drew a 10th-inning walk to send home Wenceel Pérez and give the Detroit Tigers a 1-0 win over Houston, the Astros third consecutive shutout loss.
