India's flamboyant batter Shubman Gill flattened a couple of records with one of his "better knocks" against England in the third ODI in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. On the Ahmedabad venue where Gill has found the formula for success,

Shubman Gill created history with his century at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the third ODI against England. Gill has become the first Indian to hit a century across formats at a single ground.

Gill has set another milestone by becoming the fastest player to reach 2,500 runs in ODI cricket. He achieved the feat in just 50 innings, breaking former South Africa cricketer Hashim Amla's record of reaching the mark in 53 innings.

He started that as early as the sixth ball he faced, though he drove Saqib Mahmood straight to mid-off. He had started the innings slowly, soaking up 10 dot balls before he creamed one through covers. He again walked down the track two balls later to Saqib, and again mid-off intervened.

India completed a clean sweep in their ODI series against England, capping their Champions Trophy preparations with a commanding 142-run victory. Shubman Gill's century and impressive contributions from Kohli and Iyer set up the win,

Chasing India's mammoth 356, England were all out for 214 in 34.2 overs. Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana and Hardik Pandya, all took two wickets each.

With his 7th ODI hundred, Shubman Gill also became the quickest batter to reach 2500 ODI runs during his milestone 50th match in the format.

India completely deflated England at the end of what will feel like an arduous tour for the visitors where they could win only one match put of eight. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India completed a 3-0 series sweep and put themselves in ideal momentum before the Champions Trophy.
