The Abilene Taylor County Public Health District is warning of a salmonella outbreak linked to backyard poultry. Live poultry such as chickens and ducks have been linked to the outbreak, which the CDC says has affected 34 patients in 13 states since April 23.

Per a press release, Ghirardelli issued a voluntary recall of several powdered beverage mixes after discovering that they could be contaminated with salmonella. California Dairies, Inc., a company that provides milk powder to manufacturers including Ghirardelli, recently recalled its milk powder over concerns about the presence of salmonella.
