One of the sex trafficking rings used violence, including beatings with an electrical cord, to control victims as young as 13, authorities alleged.

In one trafficking ring, suspects lied to victims to lure them to a brothel, prosecutors said. In the other, suspects advertised sex with minors, according to prosecutors.

In the Bridgeton case, a new group of victims were allegedly brought to a house on a weekly basis and instructed not to leave.
