Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX), took the top domestic box office this weekend, bringing in at least $18M.That was enough to unseat Weapons, from Warner Bros. (NASDAQ:WBD), which slipped to second place after taking the top spot in its first two weekends of release.

A singalong version of the Netflix animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” is on-track to earn $18 million to $20 million in theaters this weekend, making it the number one movie at the domestic box office. And that’s despite only being in theaters for two-thirds of the weekend (namely, Saturday and Sunday).

Blockbuster hits on the big screen are still very much a thing, but front-loaded box office numbers are also very much a thing, and the shrunken window of cinema exclusivity is regularly to blame. The fight rages on – which makes a weekend like this one quite strange,
