MAXTON — A mass shooting near Maxton early Saturday morning has resulted in 13 individuals being shot and two killed, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
A t least two people were killed and seven others are in critical condition after a mass shooting took place early Saturday at a large party in North Carolina, according to officials. A total of 13 people were shot in the incident just outside of Maxton, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
The latest mass shooting highlights ongoing concerns of gun violence at large public gatherings, with another mass shooting happening just two weeks ago at crowded bar on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, that killed four people and injured numerous others.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division is leading the investigation, assisted by the FBI, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and state Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) agents.
