A Russian drone attack on a residential area in Kharkiv killed seven people including a toddler and a 16-year-old boy overnight, Ukrainian authorities said on Monday, as the United States presses Kyiv to accept a quick deal to end the war that Moscow started.

Ukraine said on Monday that at least seven people were killed and 37 others injured in overnight Russian airstrikes on the cities of Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

Ukraine has reportedly launched a new offensive operation against Russian forces, amid the ongoing war between the two nations. On Friday, the Kyiv Post reported that Ukraine's Third Separate Assault Brigade shared a post on Telegram detailing how they have executed several successful attacks against Russian forces in the Kharkiv Oblast.
