The 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections took place in two phases, with voting for the Dhanwar constituency held on November 20

In Santal Pargana, the BJP’s tally dropped from four seats to one. In most constituencies reserved for tribal candidates, JMM increased its vote share.

BJP fought the Jharkhand election in its trade-mark aggressive style by raising issues such as 'corruption' and 'Bangladeshi infiltration', but it seems they did not go well among voters, prompting the INDIA bloc to retain power in the state.

The BJP saw its vote share dip in six of the 17 seats it contested in Santhal Pargana, where it aggressively pushed the issue in the run-up to the election. It managed to bag only Jarmundi.

The only ST seat that saffron party could win was thanks to the turncoat former CM Champai Soren, who had quit JMM to join the BJP and won his Saraikella seat on a BJP ticket
