A petition urging to ban ISKCON in Bangladesh alleges that it has been involved in “radical activities” that “threaten” national security and stir communal violence

The High Court's refusal came a day after the Bangladesh government had filed a writ petition, demanding a ban on Iskcon, which it termed a "religious fundamentalist organisation" as a result of the ongoing violence.

The Bangladesh High Court on Thursday (28 November) rejected a plea to ban the ISKCON. The court on Wednesday received a plea to ban the Hindu religious organisation's activities in Bangladesh.

Iskcon had earlier expelled Chinmoy Krishna Das who was arrested earlier this week and was slapped with sedition charges. Bangladeshi media has reported that the sedition charges were levelled against Das because he flew a religious flag above Bangladesh's national flag in a religious congregation in Bangladesh.
