Rep. Don Bacon defended Trump's $4 trillion tax bill, arguing its middle-class benefits while addressing GOP concerns over Medicaid cuts and mounting deficit fears.

It was a long-shot effort to compile a lengthy list of GOP priorities into what they called his “one big beautiful bill,” at nearly 900 pages.

President Trump is scheduled to sign the bill into law at 4 p.m. on July 4 at the White House, locking in tax reductions and Medicaid cuts.

The bill’s passage is a major policy win for Trump who displayed complete control over Republicans — by holding them to his self-imposed July 4 deadline.
