Large crowds began gathering on Saturday morning in opposition to how Mr. Trump has been approaching various issues, such as immigration and the government shutdown.

Organizers said some 2,600 protests were planned in the U.S. on Saturday. The protests were largely peaceful, as demonstrators united in their stated aim to safeguard the country's democratic values.

Activists in Central Florida are preparing to join others across the state and nation Saturday for the anti-Trump “No Kings” protest 2.0.

President Donald Trump’s administration is at the center of growing unrest as “No Kings” protests spread across South Florida, part of a nationwide movement organizers say is meant to defend democracy and push back against authoritarian overreach.

There are over 2,500 events scheduled for No Kings protests on Oct. 18 across the nation. This is the second round of No Kings protests since June 14, which saw over 1,800 events scheduled nationwide.
